“We’ve celebrated various milestones in our relationship at Four Seasons Hotel Boston—meeting for drinks or dinner for our first few dates, the day we got engaged—as well as holiday dinners for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas,” says Anne. “It’s very special to both of us, so it was perfect for our wedding reception.”

Grand Cathedral . . . Harvest Fare . . . Sophisticated Romance . . .

The Scene: Anne’s love of the fall season initially inspired her to select rustic autumn hues and décor, but she soon changed to a cleaner, more elegant palette of cream, white and blush, with glints of gold and pops of bright pink and orange. “It was fabulous to see the ballroom just before everyone arrived,” Anne says. “The candles were lit and the room was just spectacular—glowing and pristine.”

The Bride and Groom: Love bloomed not at the office, but during a working lunch where Mark and Anne, employed by competing companies, met to discuss their industry. Nine months later, Mark surprised her with a proposal at that very restaurant, and they set their wedding date for one year later.

The Bride Wore: Anne chose a strapless ivory organza and beaded tulle Kenneth Pool wedding dress, accented by a matching cathedral-length veil. Silver Jimmy Choo pumps, a vintage-inspired jewelled hair clip and classic oval drop earrings (a gift from her dad) added subtle sparkle.

Magical Moment: “Walking down the hotel staircase in my beautiful wedding gown and veil (the veil was my favourite part!), and seeing my dad waiting for me on the landing, and then opening the doors to the cathedral and walking down the long, long aisle to Mark . . . those moments really stand out,” says Anne.

The Honeymoon: The couple honeymooned at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa and were enchanted by the far-flung island nation’s breathtaking beauty and romantic privacy. “We were in an over-water bungalow, and part of the floor was glass so you could watch fish swimming in the incredible turquoise water,” remembers Anne.
