New York–based bride Lisa Tsuei and husband-to-be Kevin Shiu wanted to share the natural splendor of Maui with their closest friends and family. Frequent travellers to the magical island—“It’s so beautiful, we fly there whenever we have the chance,” says the bride—the couple knew they could count on Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea to make everything perfect for their island beach wedding, even while they were thousands of miles away.

Intimate . . . Ocean Front . . . Elegant

The scene: The outdoor wedding reception featured canopied dining tents surrounding the dance floor. Lounge chairs and ottomans allowed guests to relax and enjoy the elegant beach setting.

That magical moment: After the sun set, crystal chandeliers illuminated the reception tent, creating the intimacy and sophistication the bride wanted.

The bride wore: Lisa chose an ivory Lazaro  mermaid gown with crystal appliqués at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City.  The gown blended femininity and tradition with a modern, sparkly look. “I liked that it was fitted but with a little dramatic flair,” recalls the bride. With her gown, Lisa wore gilded pumps from Jimmy Choo.

The bride and groom: The couple chose Plumeria Point overlooking the beach for their intimate ceremony. They stood under a natural canopy created by the trees. The wedding party then moved to the Ocean Front Lawn for the reception, allowing the guests an opportunity to explore the property.

The bride wanted a luxurious and stylish yet relaxed setting. Plus, Lisa says, “Everyone raved about the food!”
