The Ride: You’ll fly into St. Kitts. From there, a Resort representative will greet you at customs before whisking you away to Port Zante, where you will board the Nevisian Spirit or the Island Express III, private yachts manned by a Four Seasons marine crew. While on board, toast with a complimentary signature Nevisian Spirit Rum and cool off with lemon-grass-scented towels. The amenity-packed yacht will then drop you at the pier directly in front of the Resort.

The Spa: Start your honeymoon off with a 50-minute Couple’s Ritual. You and your loved one will swoon over a Swedish massage that uses custom blended oils in aphrodisiac scents like vanilla, sandalwood, neroli and rose. The last, according to myth, was adored by the goddess Aphrodite for its ability to attract the opposite sex. Afterward, hit the Lasala pool and toast to one other with Champagne.

The Food: Certified divers can spend the day with Executive Chef Andreas Donnerbauer and local dive master Ellis Chaderton on a two-tank dive in the waters off Nevis and St. Kitts. You’ll lasso your own lobsters, and help prepare your catch later in the day at an intimate beach barbecue. Watch the sun melt into the horizon as you sip on tropical cocktails and catch a chef-led cooking demonstration using local produce and ingredients.

The Beach Houses: Book one of the cabana-style beach houses at Four Seasons Resort Nevis and enjoy sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. The 518-square-kilometre cabanas are located just steps from the water’s edge and offer an array of amenities, including a dedicated attendant and complimentary refreshments. The beach houses are available for daily rentals from sunrise to sunset and feature open-air decks perfect for a romantic dinner.

The Suites: The Resort recently unveiled its two renovated luxury suites, Afterglow and Seascape. Inspired by the island’s unhurried way of life, the one- to three-bedroom dwellings are an airy environment with contemporary surf and sand colours. Couples will love the spa-like bathrooms with deep soaking tubs. The suites are an unspoiled experience of paradise with furnished terraces that look onto the beach, sea and horizon.

There’s something about the West Indies island of Nevis that pulls you in. Maybe it’s the fact that this destination is only 93 square kilometres but blessed with a lush landscape rivalling that of its more populated sister island, St. Kitts. Or maybe it’s the dreamy architecture of churches, windmills and refurbished plantations that serve as reminders of a romantic era gone by. Whatever its draw, the Four Seasons Resort Nevis is the perfect home base for couples on this charming Caribbean island.
