Experience Africa, Four Seasons Style
At Four Seasons Safari Lodge in Serengeti, Tanzania, you can “rough it” in luxury.
“Roughing it in Africa” used to be a redundant phrase. But Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Tanzania, will breathe some much-needed new life into the African luxury landscape, inviting visitors to experience the earthy, wild environment without sacrificing authenticity or comfort. General Manager James Kostecky discusses what he enjoys most about the new Lodge and the unique rewards it will offer guests.
What’s your favourite part of the Lodge?
I love the elevated walkways. They provide a tree house feeling and offer great Serengeti views. But I especially love the animals that regularly show up at the two watering holes on the Lodge’s property. It’s a sublime experience to watch them so closely. We recently installed an infrared camera on the main watering hole and connected it to our Lodge TV system, so lately I’ve been able to watch a huge herd of buffalo that has been visiting the watering hole every night.
Which features of the property will surprise guests the most?
The infinity pool overlooking the watering hole. You can swim while gazing at a herd of elephants splashing about in close proximity. Also, there’s a full-service Spa, offering treatments made with botanicals like argan oil and locally harvested marula tree oil.
Many guests expect to “rough it” in Africa. Is it possible to be pampered here and still have an authentic experience?
One of the best aspects of this Lodge is that you can rough it as much as you want during the day and then come back, relax and enjoy your surroundings. Many people underestimate just how tired and dirty one gets on safari. Our property provides the best of both worlds.
