Hike Santa Fe With an Expert
Follow a Four Seasons outdoorsman to New Mexico’s most scenic views, from the Rio Grande to the Jemez Mountains.
When visiting Santa Fe, staying indoors is simply not an option. Experiencing the beauty and exceptional views that New Mexico has to offer should be accomplished first hand, and at Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, you’ll have no problem doing so. Every Saturday, the Resort offers guests a complimentary programme called “Hiking with Hans.” Who is Hans? That would be Hans Loehr, bell and transportation supervisor, whose passion for travel and the outdoors has taken him on incredible adventures through Europe, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Originally from Germany, Loehr fell in love with the American Southwest—particularly Santa Fe—and all the opportunities the area has to offer both culturally and geographically. He happily shares his knowledge and insight on his popular Saturday hikes, leading guests on a three-mile (five kilometre) loop around the Resort that highlights the breathtaking views of the Rio Grande River Valley and the surrounding peaks of the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez Mountains. After the excursion, guests may enjoy a refreshing glass of the juice of the day as they reflect on the natural beauty they’ve just encountered.
Loehr and his team are also working to bring a variety of guided experiences to the Resort in the near future in an effort to create even more ways to reconnect with nature. Given the unspoiled New Mexican wilderness that surrounds him everyday, it’s easy to see why Loehr would want to share these sights with Santa Fe’s visitors.
