Golf in Mauritius Free of Charge
Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is out to improve your golf game—with unlimited complimentary golf now available to its guests.
Writer Mark Twain joked that the citizens of Mauritius thought so well of their home that some even claimed the lush volcanic island was the model for heaven. You may be inclined to agree, though, as you gaze at the impossibly green foliage and sparkling blue lagoons. The storied isle, home to generations of travellers from around the globe, is a truly heavenly spot for your next getaway.
Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita welcomes visitors with luxurious villas and suites, an over-water Spa surrounded by mangrove islets, and brilliant white-sand beaches. And if your penchant runs to golf, you won’t find a better course in the Indian Ocean than the 18-hole, par-72 championship course crafted by South African golf pro Ernie Els. Designed to be challenging—it is built to exacting USGA standards—the course is also meant to be a delight to the senses. “The course is designed with a close eye on preserving the coastline’s natural beauty,” says architect Els, “and it moves in and out of the trees, along the water and back, giving players great variety.”
And now guests at the Resort can experience all this beauty and variety—as much as they want, complete with a GPS-equipped golf cart—absolutely free of charge. Andrew Harrison, the Resort’s general manager, is excited to give every guest the chance to play on this unique—and uniquely lovely—course. “Ernie Els has created a championship course that is a challenge for experienced golfers,” he says, “but also encourages play at all levels, so families can golf together.”
This new guest perk, coupled with the highly credentialed team of instructors at the Resort’s Golf Academy, means that golfers at all levels are sure to improve their game. For lovers of the links, it may be that this is heaven after all.
