Where is the World’s Best Beach?
From pristine beaches to cosmopolitan strands, the beaches of the world beckon us. Which is your favourite?
Simple stretches of powdery sand alongside clear blue waters, rugged boulders towering over the powerful surf, nonstop sunshine and a festival atmosphere, the perfect wave after wave after wave. Narrowing down the choices for title of world’s best beach is a tough job, but we’re up to the challenge.
Tropical Getaway
From the lava beaches of the South Pacific to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean to the coral-rich islands off Africa’s east coast, you simply can’t beat the exotic beauty of a tropical island paradise for pure escape value. Maybe you prefer to experience the gentle pace of life in the Fiji Islands, rich in peaceful lagoons and coral reefs. Or, sail across the Pacific to the Hawaiian Islands, where the soft sands of Maui’s beautiful Wailea Beach invite you to let the waves carry your tensions away. If diving is your passion, the Maldives offer simply outstanding underwater scenery. And, when you return to land, you’ll find soft, sandy beaches and shimmering lagoons. The Seychelles, closer to the African coast, have an abundance of exquisite beaches, especially on the islands of La Digue, Fregate and the main island of Mahé, where Beau Vallon beckons. White sand is edged by azure waters and surrounded by lush hills and fantastic pink granite boulders.
Night Scene
If you want to mix an exciting nightlife in with your sun and surf, you may opt for Pampelonne or Plage de Tahiti in St. Tropez, where fabulous beach clubs cater to a glamorous clientele. Or, savour warm tropical evenings in Art Deco South Beach, Florida, celebrity spotting or dancing the night away at Nikki Beach Club. If your travels take you Down Under, catch the vibe at Sydney’s cosmopolitan Bondi Beach by night and experience some of the world’s best surfing by day.
Unspoiled Beauty
For pure beauty with an eco-twist, Tayrona National Nature Park in Colombia offers virgin rain forests, jungle paths and fascinating archaeological sites as well as a stunning beach, wild and untamed and irresistible. With its white sand and clear blue waters, you may think you’re in the Caribbean until you see the 16th-century castles bookending Sinclair’s Bay in northeastern Scotland. A ride along the beach on horseback will give you a chance to explore by land, or you can go on foot and watch the plovers and dunlins overhead and see porpoises and occasional orca splashing in the waves. Mythical Corfu, in the Ionian Sea, enchants visitors with craggy rocks, groves of olive trees, secluded beaches and paths that wander past villages, monasteries and lakes.
What seaside escape would you call home to the world’s best beach? Or, if you just can’t narrow it down, choose a favourite for each season or mood. We won’t complain.

Barbados! I LOVE the country and their beaches. The clear colorful water, you can be in calm or rough waters! The weather isn’t humid and the people are warm and friendly. I have travel there Jan-Dec and enjoy the weather every time!!
The beach at the Mauna Kea Hotel (big Island of Hawaii) is still my favorite.

Nevis, is the most beautiful beach ever! Please reopen the Four Seasons soon! I hope Sunshine’s survived!
The beach at Four Seasons in Nevis. Too bad you have not re-opened the hotel! The is nothing like it in Nevis – the whole area is missing on the good trade brought in by Four Seasons guests and us travellers are left without a great hotel and beach.
I’ve traveled almost over 40 countries, but the best beach I have ever been is the secluded bay of Hillside Beach Club at Fethiye, Turkey with its crystal clear waters and stunning view.
Praia Lopes Mendes on the island of Ilha Grande about 2 hours drive south of Rio de Janeiro is a secret paradise that will take your breath away the moment you see it. It is two miles of uninhabited white and golden sand backed by verdant tropical jungle atop rugged hills filled with the sound of bird life and the sound of howler monkeys at day break and sunset. With palm trees on one side and clear rolling Atlantic surf on the other, this is as perfect a beach as you can get.
Undoubtedly Petite Anse, Baie Lazare in Seychelles. Tested, approved and warmly recommended
Bay of Fires beach, Tasmania, Australia or Coolum Beach, Queensland, Australia.
Anse Source d’Argent-Seychelles is one of the most beautiful beach in the world, the beauty of the place is breathtaking. As a consequence, it is one of the most photographed beaches around the globe. All Seychelles beaches are unique . I have been there 3 months ago and I stayed at the Four Seasons, amazing place, amazing location! Highly Recomanded!
Best Beach, Lanikai in the Hawaiian Islands, though several in Kauai are close.
NEVIS Four seasons – and you need to get it re-opened! I understand that the property has gone into foreclosure. That is too bad.
Beaches between Oran and Mostaghanem in Western Algeria !!!!!
My wife and I are in agreement that the best beaches in the world are in The Maldives (and we never agree :)
The beaches along the north shore of Kauai, HI are wonderful. Often not too crowded, plus there are some great snorkeling locations around Haena.
Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Jamaica is awesome.
I like to go to the beach, especially in Hawaiian Islands. Thanks for your topic. It’s very usefull for me!
