Learning to sail is a breeze at Four Seasons Resort Nevis, thanks to the new Sailing School operated in conjunction with SailLaser, the international company with a special streamlined method for sailing instruction.

“You’ll be out on the water on your own after just eight hours,” promises Mac kee France, the Resort’s Director of Sports. “There’s a wonderful sense of accomplishment when you’re catching the wind and sailing across the waves. It’s a beautiful feeling of freedom and independence.”

The Easiest Way to Sail

Open to everyone—from 7-year-olds to seniors—the two-day programme includes a four-hour session each morning or afternoon. The course costs US$250 for beginners and $200 for experienced sailors.

On the first day, you start with a classroom-style talk held under a gazebo on the beach. You’re introduced to the basics of wind direction and safety. Then you head down to the water’s edge to set up your boat, and in no time you’re out on the water with an instructor.

On day two, you’re sailing by yourself—with an instructor alongside in a training boat—showing you how to tack and jibe. After completing the course, you receive a SailLaser certificate, along with a logoed long-sleeve shirt and a photo.

You can then borrow a sailboat free of charge from the Resort’s Watersports Desk. And you can continue to develop your skills on other sailing vessels or at other SailLaser facilities around the world.

A Great Activity for Groups

The Nevis Sailing School provides an engaging group experience, too—whether for a corporate team-building event or a gathering of family and friends. After sharing the two days of training, you can all join in a four-boat competition, manoeuvring around various points on the water and showing off your skills. Most of the Resort’s boats accommodate two adults, or two adults and two kids.

To start planning your adventure, visit Four Seasons Resort Nevis for rates, reservations and special offers. You can book the Sailing School through the Concierge before your arrival, or sign up one day in advance at the Watersports Desk.
