Spa connoisseurs are excited to hear that Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, is back. The Resort was closed in October 2008 due to impacts from Hurricane Omar.

Anyone who has visited the Spa understands why this “oasis within an oasis” is such a treasure. It was named North America’s Top Resort Spa in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2007 Spa Poll, and in 2008, Travel + Leisure Magazine ranked it as the Best Hotel Spa in the Caribbean.

Capturing some of the favourite memories of past guests, here are eight spa experiences to anticipate:

1. Immediate Serenity
When you step into the Spa’s tranquil courtyard, inspired by West Indian colonial architecture, you discover colourful gingerbread-trimmed treatment cottages nestled amid lush tropical gardens.

2. Soothing Hydrotherapy
Relax your muscles with a hydrotherapy circuit outdoors in the garden. Warm up in the volcanic stone whirlpool, reminiscent of a sugar mill ruin, then cool down in the Japanese-inspired cold plunge pool.

3. Hypnotic Views
Every treatment room has a large window with a view of the cloud-capped Nevis Peak.

4. Local Aromatherapy

Breathe in the fragrances of honey, mango, coconut, papaya and sugar cane—indigenous ingredients used in many of the spa treatments, evoking all the sensual beauty of the Caribbean.

5. The Smoothest Skin
The Rum Tonic body treatment is a Nevis favourite. Sugar cane exfoliates, then your skin is coated with a blend of rum, ginger and island honey. Your whole body feels velvety soft and beach-ready.

6. Extended Relaxation
After your treatment, lounge on the shaded teak deck, gazing over the pool and sipping a tea of fresh garden herbs.

7. Total Laziness
You might decide to spend the rest of the day in the Spa garden, because it’s so peaceful and beautiful.

8. Couple’s Massage
Plan to come back to the Spa with your partner to share the famous Nevisian massage. Kneading and gliding motions release every muscle, and your hands and feet are exfoliated with Nevisian volcanic sand. The two of you feel more connected and more in tune with the gentle island pace.

To experience the legendary Spa relaxation of Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, plan a winter escape with special reopening rates.
