We’re head over heels for the geometric design and semi-wedge style of these boots.

This week I am head over heels in love with Maiyet.

With an emphasis on rare artisanal talent, Maiyet’s collections of ready-to-wear, shoes, fine jewellery and accessories are visions straight from the minds of the next generation of master craftsmen. Beyond the designs, which appeal to my fashion aesthetic, one of the biggest draws for me is that the company sources materials and cultivates artisans from destinations around the world, such as Colombia, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Mongolia and Peru.

The item I covet most is the Aztec Semi Wedge open-toe ankle boot, which is made in Italy. I love the geometric cage-like design, reminiscent of a chinoiserie chair. The sculpted wooden semi-wedge heel is unlike any I’ve seen before, and the soft, black suede is perfectly suited to my intention of wearing these shoes all summer long.
