Some 36 Four Seasons hotels in North, Central and South America were challenged to create a cocktail using only locally sourced ingredients. Limited only by their imaginations and a 100-mile radius, the hotel mixologists put their own spin on a 100 Mile Cocktail. Punta Mita tapped into tequila, while Costa Rica selected guaro cacique—a Costa Rican liquor—and Atlanta used sourced moonshine for its beverage.

A cocktail made with beer isn’t something you’ll find on every cocktail menu, but then again neither is a drink made with all local ingredients. Four Seasons properties in Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Washington, DC, created specialty drinks using beer as the main ingredient for the 100 Mile Cocktail challenge.

Rum, many people’s favourite spirit, was the main ingredient in cocktails created by Four Seasons hotels in Beverly Hills, Nevis, St. Louis and Buenos Aires.

They don’t show the Appalachian Moonshiner…. sad. We tried making this and it was god awful. I really want to know how the recipe is for that drink. We got all the ingredients but we couldn’t even finish a small glass of it. Gave it to the bums downtown

What a tease! All this talk of the winning cocktails but no recipes for any of them. How boring!
