A New Michelin-Starred Restaurant in Florence
Michelin stars indicate culinary excellence of the highest order. At the newly crowned Il Palagio in Florence, you can experience the gastronomic heights of Italian cuisine.
Every year, the Michelin Red Guide highlights the finest culinary successes all around the world, most notably in, but not exclusively, to Europe. Awarded for both exceptional service and cuisine, these stars are highly revered indications of a restaurant’s merit. For 2012, Il Palagio at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, is Four Seasons’ newest restaurant to receive a coveted Michelin star.
Il Palagio is situated on the Palazzo della Gherardesca of Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, in what was once the Palazzo’s stable block. The restaurant’s dramatic vaulted ceiling—original to the building—and lovely outdoor terrace set the stage for Executive Chef Vito Mollica’s authentic Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist.
Using only the freshest ingredients sourced from artisan producers, Mollica’s multi-course tasting menu pairs regional specialties such as lemon-scented potato gnocchi with rabbit ragout and truffles with fine Italian wines. To top off Mollica’s savoury dishes, pastry chef Domenico Di Clemente offers a tempting selection of pastries and desserts that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth.
A wide variety of à la carte items are also available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all of which can be enjoyed on the restaurant’s picturesque garden terrace when the weather permits.
This freshly received Michelin star is only the beginning of a new adventure for Il Palagio, which joins three-star Lung King Heen in Hong Kong, two-star Le Cinq in Paris and others among the collection of Four Seasons Michelin-starred restaurants.
