Editor Obsession: J/Hadley’s Opulent Opal Bracelet

This week I’m obsessed with J/Hadley Jewelry, specifically the opal pieces. Even more specifically, this fiery opal and pavé diamond bangle, set in rhodium and 14-carat gold. I love how the stones’ setting really complements their cut and brings their colour to life.
J/Hadley began with a chance encounter. Upon graduation from college, Ashley Gilroy took a trip to India. As she strolled through a mall, she stumbled upon something special—a shop belonging to a jewellery designer catering to the Bollywood crowd.
This discovery led to an apprenticeship and Gilroy’s introduction to the world of fine jewellery, where she learned gemmology, design, sales and marketing. After three years, Gilroy launched her own line, J/Hadley.
The J in J/Hadley pays homage to the Jain family, Gilroy’s mentors in India, and Hadley refers to the street her mother’s family lived on in Nashville, Tennessee.
The line is still largely handcrafted in India, with select pieces made in New York.
