Editor Obsession: Equestrian Jewellery by Ralph Lauren
We’re champing at the bit to wear this bejewelled bracelet.
Happy birthday to Ralph Lauren! The designer, who turns (ahem) a year older on October 14, has been putting his refined spin on rustic, romantic and equestrian style for four decades. And, whether he’s capturing the spirit of the American West, putting fashion into functional equestrian staples, or creating glamorous gowns, Lauren’s designs skew more timeless than trendy and are always sophisticated.
His affinity for equestrian looks extends to the Ralph Lauren Fine Jewelry Equestrian Collection, where the designer renders his iconic motifs in white gold and diamonds. The stirrup pendants and earrings are pretty and polished. But what really catches my eye is this dazzling Equestrian Bracelet: full-pavé diamonds, brown diamonds and a twinkling emerald sparkle on a white-gold horse head, which is affixed to a black alligator strap.
The bracelet is bold but wearable for most any occasion. (I can see myself pairing it with a casual tweed jacket or a black sheath dress from Ralph Lauren Collection.) It’s a statement piece, to be sure, and one that says classic luxury.
