Editor Obsession: A Bold Rona Pfeiffer Bracelet
Travels to Asia and the Mediterranean inspired the LA-based jewellery designer to create this stunning piece.
This week I’m obsessed with jeweller Rona Pfeiffer’s stunning gems. She uses unusual materials in company with rose-cut diamonds to create her pieces. I love this handmade bracelet, made of silver and adorned with a tassel, vintage glass beads from the Middle East, lava and pavé diamonds.
Pfeiffer’s newest collection—including this bracelet—is influenced by her travels to Asia and the Mediterranean and incorporates exotic materials such as coral, lava and bone.
Aside from her creative vision, I admire Pfeiffer’s generous spirit. Formerly an agent for film and television, Pfeiffer was approached by costume designer Colleen Atwood to create jewellery for Tim Burton’s film Dark Shadows. She auctioned a diamond necklace worn in the film and donated the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association.
You can find Pfeiffer’s jewellery in boutiques including In Her Shoes in Palo Alto, California, which donates 100% of its profits to the Global Fund for Women. And look for more of her pieces appearing soon in Issue Four 2012 of Four Seasons Magazine.
