Girls Day Out in Budapest
Treat yourself or a special woman in your life to a day of sightseeing, style and spa time in Budapest at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest.
On a tour of Budapest, Martina Vavrova noted the multitude of city landmarks named after women. This insight inspired Vavrova, a public relations director at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, to create the new Ladies First Tour—four hours filled with excellent food, sightseeing and style topped off with a rejuvenating spa treatment.
Start the day at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest with an energetic healthful breakfast of homemade granola or an egg white frittata prepared by Executive Chef Simone Cerea. Then it’s off to Elisabeth Bridge, the Statue of Sissi and Gödöllő Royal Palace—all iconic sites named after Elisabeth of Bavaria (1837–1898), wife of Franz Joseph I, Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary.
“The highlight for me is visiting the Gödöllő Royal Palace. Queen Elisabeth is a big name in our region’s history,” says Vavrova. “She loved Hungary and spent more time here than in Austria. She even raised her kids in Hungary and learned the language.”
Other stops include Margaret Island in the middle of the Danube River, the Statue of Liberty on Gellért Hill and the Little Princess Statue.
Fashionistas will want to reserve a tour of a local Hungarian designer. Upon request, guests can visit the studio of Tamás Náray, Katti Zoób or contemporary USE unused, which is just a 10-minute walk from the Hotel and considered one of the top contemporary fashion designers in the country. The designers welcome guests to their ateliers, provide advice, select pieces with clients and make desired alterations.
After capping the tour with a Sole Delight, guests will not only be well-versed in Budapest history, culture and style, they’ll also be relaxed and refreshed.
