Personal Tour: Tim Petrovic’s Austin and Hill Country
Join PGA golfer Tim Petrovic on a personal tour of Austin and the Texas Hill Country.
“They don’t call it Hill Country for nothing. Many parts of Texas are flat as a pancake, but it’s really hilly here, with some big lakes close by, and Austin is in the middle of Texas Hill Country,” said Tim Petrovic, who moved here many years ago—in large part for the city’s acclaimed music. “A few minutes ago I was out in my garage playing guitar, and my wife and I are really into music. They’ve got everything here, country, hard rock, progressive, and the largest outdoor music festival in the country, Austin City Limits.”
Petrovic plays guitar for fun and golf for living. The former collegiate All American has been a fixture on the PGA Tour since 2002 and really came on the global scene with his breakthrough victory at the 2005 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He had a career-high six Top 10 finishes in 2009. When he’s not out on the road playing golf, Petrovic, his wife, Julie, and his two daughters relish the Hill Country’s music, culture, outdoor activities and widely varied food scene. He and his wife run an Austin-based charity, For Every Child.
