Francesco and I have always done things a little differently from most Canadians. I think it is because of our strong Italian upbringing. Or maybe it’s just because I am the only daughter in a family full of brothers, and far from the typical girly girl.
Choosing to have a fall wedding was one of those different decisions. There’s something magical about getting married in a season often forgotten by the rest of the wedding world. To walk down the aisle when the leaves are falling instead of when the flowers are blooming seemed so right for Francesco and me.
Speaking of flowers—our floral arrangements will consist of antique pink roses, blush and white dinner-plate dahlias, and soft grey dusty miller foliage.
Not to be outdone, our five-tiered wedding cake will also coordinate with the season. Each tier will have a different flavour, such as apple, walnut or cinnamon spice.
We can’t wait until October 6 to express our deep devotion to each other and celebrate with all of our wedding guests at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto.
