Like Adam, I also got a feel for that dry Hungarian humour—Budapest locals like to call the Szabadság Szobor, or Statue of Liberty, "a giant beer bottle opener."

Budapest's expansive Széchenyi Bath is the largest thermal bath complex in all of Europe.

The tiled, neo-Baroque style ceiling at Széchenyi Bath was quite the sight as well.

Built in the early 1900s, Gresham Palace was named after the 16th-century English financier Sir Thomas Gresham, whose image you'll find emblazoned in elegant stained glass.

The city's architecture ranges from old to modern, but it's always lovely—take this colourful tiled rooftop, for example.
